HOW YOU WILL CONTRIBUTE:
As a Mechanic, you will be responsible for performing the upfit of trucks, as well as fabricate, repair, maintain and install steel items and equipment. The assembly must be completed according to the goals set by the Production Manager. You will do this by:
- Assembling basic equipment and products under close supervision and in accordance with standard operating procedures.
- Basic knowledge of MIG welding and equipment preferred.
- Reading, interpreting and following basic blueprints, diagrams, engineering drawings, specifications, bill of materials, and other written instructions or procedures to accurately assemble equipment and products.
- Meeting production schedule deadlines as designated by the Production Manager.
- Performing quality work checks to ensure the product meets quality standards.
- Identifying product defects and documenting them.
- Performing all necessary documentation in a timely manner.
- Conferring with supervisor regarding quality or procedure problems.
- Reworking and/or repairing assembled equipment and products according to engineering specification changes.
- Performing all work in accordance with quality standards and established safety procedures.
- Maintaining a clean and safe work area.

WHAT THIS ROLE NEEDS:
- Ability to assemble and install equipment and products under close supervision and in accordance with standard operating procedures.
- Ability to read, interpret and follow basic blueprints, diagrams, engineering drawings, specifications, bill of materials, and other written instructions or procedures to accurately assemble/install equipment and products.
- Ability to perform quality work checks to ensure the product meets quality standards.
- Ability to follow oral and written instructions while remembering multiple tasks.
- Good vision, detail oriented and organized; self-motivated and able to meet manufacturing deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Basic mechanical and/or electrical skills.
- Basic MIG welding experience
- Must have own tools
- Ability to operate hand and power tools.
EDUCATION AND WORK EXPERIENCE:
- High School Diploma or Equivalent.
- One-year related experience in a manufacturing environment or technical school.
- Truck fitting experience is a plus.
PHYSICAL & MENTAL ENVIRONMENT:
- Majority of time spent standing on hard surface, with substantial amount of pushing, pulling, and lifting. Position requires ability to frequently lift objects up to 50 pounds, perform moderately difficult manipulative skills and hand-eye coordination skills, walk and stand for prolonged periods, see objects closely, and hear normal sounds with some background noises.
- Position requires ability to concentrate on fine detail with constant interruption and attend to tasks for 20 to 45 minutes at a time. Individual must be able to understand and relate to concepts behind specific ideas and remember multiple tasks given to self and others over long periods of time and be able to communicate verbally and written.
- This job is indoors in a traditional manufacturing/warehouse setting. Activities will include both sitting and standing. These activities will occur in the production areas. Although the position is indoors there will be varying temperatures between different areas.

Compensation:
- Hourly rates ranging from $17.00-$24.00.
